Introduction

Master of Business Administration (MBA)

MBA (Full Time) is a 2 years duration program, approved by AICTE, New Delhi and is affiliated to Barkatullah University, Bhopal with an annual intake of 60 seats. First year of the program consisting of two semesters includes the study of 12 courses apart from summer training in professional environment ( at the end of II semester ) whereas in second year, two semesters the students can acquire dual specializations in - Marketing, Finance, Human resource Management, Retail, Banking. Students are also expected to complete a case study natured, based on live examples from professional environments.

Activities

ED Club

The ED Club of MBA Department "Fearless Innovators" hosted its 2nd event of the year on 30th November 2024, with Dr. K.K. Dwivedi (Director, OCT), Dr. Amit Kanskar (Head, CRT), and Ms. Roopali Soni (Head, Cyber Security) sharing their insights. The event included a briefing on past activities, an AD-MAD show competition showcasing innovations, and a team-building game to enhance coordination among members. The winners, the team lead by Aditya & Anshul Shrivas with Manisha Dewde & Amit Vishwakarma were awarded for the "Best Advertisement" in the event "Ad-Mad".


HR Club

The Department of MBA, inaugurated its "Human Resource Club" on 6th April, 2024. This significant event was a first step forward for the students to showcase their leadership, Innovative thinking skills while working in a team. The event was flagged off with a debate on the topic ‘Role of HR in promoting work life balance’. There was also a Team activity named "Follow the Path with Blindfolds" intended to develop trust between participants. The activity contributed to the development of teamwork and social skills. The winners of the debate session Judged by the guest are; Mr. Aman Singh Baghel & Mr. Arun Sahu of Second Semester.


Finance Club

The MBA Department's Finance Club hosted an expert-talk session on Stock Market Trading & Investment Avenues, led by Mr. Ajay Singh, Branch Manager of Sharekhan Ltd. This informative session provided valuable insights into stock market trading, risk management, and strategies for maximizing returns. It was an excellent opportunity for students to learn directly from an industry expert and gain practical knowledge in areas such as Investment Management and Portfolio Management.

Industry Interface

LM Bakers Pvt. Ltd, Mandideep

On 8th March 2025, The Department of MBA, Oriental College of Technology organized an Industrial visit of MBA II Sem students to LM Bakers Pvt. Ltd, Mandideep, a manufacturer of Parle products, to gain practical insights into the FMCG sector. During the visit, company representatives guided students through various stages of biscuit and confectionery production, from raw material procurement to packaging. Students thoroughly observed the production process, quality control, and supply chain management while interacting with company representatives. The visit highlighted automation, hygiene standards, and inventory management. Additionally, students participated in a Tree Plantation drive, reinforcing the importance of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability. The visit bridged the gap between theoretical learning and real-world applications, providing valuable industry exposure and a deeper understanding of manufacturing and business operations. It was an enriching and insightful experience for students.


Central India's Premier Industrial Exhibition

On 10th March 2025, MBA students from Oriental College of Technology visited Central India's Premier Industrial Exhibition at Dussehra Maidan, Mandideep, Bhopal. Organized by the Association of All Industries, Mandideep, the event provided an excellent platform for students and faculty to explore innovations, discover industrial opportunities, and strengthen industry-academia collaborations. Students actively engaged with numerous companies from across India, gaining valuable insights into the industrial landscape.


NISM Workshop on Financial Trading & Investment

A two-day workshop was organized on December 10th and 11th, 2024, by MBA Department featuring renowned experts &, corporate trainers Mr. Piyush Gupta and Ms. Shruti Gupta from the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM). The event aimed to offer students valuable insights into various career opportunities within the stock market, with a focus on pursuing a career as a full-time trader in finance, trading, and investment. The session was especially beneficial for those considering careers in financial markets, investment banking,


Visit to Vardhman Yarns in Mandideep

On December 19th, 2024, the MBA department of Oriental College of Technology organized an industry visit to Vardhman Yarns in Mandideep. The Company is renowned for its cutting-edge technology and superior quality. During the visit, students had the opportunity to observe various stages of yarn manufacturing and Total Quality Management (TQM) at the company's manufacturing division. The company stands out among its competitors due to its focus on principles such as continuous improvement, a customer-centric approach, adherence to stringent standards, and empowerment and accountability.


Leading Innovation through Project Management

Department of MBA, Oriental College of Technology Bhopal, organised an online session titled "Leading Innovation through Project Management" on 03/05/24 under the flagship of the International Industry Interface Program. The Expert speaker Mr Satvir Singh Chaggar, Senior Manager, Project Management office GENINVO, USA, explained the role of leadership and innovation in developing required skills in the field of Project Management. It helped the students to develop a vision about the current scenario in Project management, leadership and innovation.
