The first year of MBA Semester II are required to do summer internship programme which help
the students to apply theoretical concepts into corporate and that way they learn functional skills.
Each student is required to undertake practical training of 30 days in an organization of repute.
Faculty members at OCM MBA guide the students in project preparation. The student must choose
a topic for the report that entails data primary/secondary data, external involvement, analysis,
qualitative interviews and use of contemporary tools and software. On the completion of summer
internship, the students are required to submit a report to the company and the institute. Faculty
evaluates the project report of the students.

The faculty designs individual assignments for assessing the students’ performance as it ensures

Skill gap is probably the one biggest problem industry is facing today which leads to millions of
graduates but very low employment. We at Oriental realize that the teachers and lecturers in
colleges play the most important role in shaping their students careers but at the same point of time
they need guidance from industry experts also. It is imperative for students to keep themselves
upgraded on the subjects and skills. For this, we conduct special sessions on Mock interview and
Group Discussion also with industry experts to provide the real life experience.

Mirroring sessions for improvement of academic Delivery: This is an initiative, taken by OCM. Peer review is carried out once in each semester of all the faculty members. Reviewer faculty attends a class session of the reviewed faculty observes the teaching methods followed, delivery content & style, and give timely feedback to concerned faculty for improvement.

One specific area that causes students difficulty is learning to budget. Faculty members along with
their student groups of Oriental MBA perform sector wise Union Budget Analysis in an interactive

In today’s globalised world, good knowledge of English is becoming increasingly necessary. In particular, many companies now require a good level of English for candidate to work for them.
Often a lack of English proficiency can be a hurdle which stops many people developing in their careers.
At the same time, it’s often difficult to find the right guidance in a short period of time which
offers a genuine improvement to communication skills. For this, a Special workshop for MBA
students is conducted every year on regular basis.

The Oriental College of management suggests bunch of certificate courses to its students to furnish
the emerging need of the industries, in various domain. These courses are of short duration,
delivered by institute and also by platforms like ATAL, Swayam-NPTEL, Coursera, NCFM etc.

It is assumed that we lean fast through watching. Movies creates a longstanding unforgettable
moments among students and also improves observation skills among them. Institute encourages
learning management concepts through movies. Some movies & Shows like Shark Tank, Wall
Street, The social Network, Rocket Singh, 12 Angry Men, Ghazi Attack, Pursuit of happiness, Up
in the air etc., are recommended to students to learn about consensus agreement, importance of
team work, stock market, business strategies, etc., A special session is conducted to discuss the
management concept learned in that movie in the form of presentation.
